Research & Development (R&D)

Temporary contract

Day

We are looking for a graduate interested in an international 2-year traineeship in the field of Food Technology.

As a trainee, you will have 3 missions:

  • Mission #1: You will build knowledge about our business, products, and industrial processes
through training (formal/on-the-job) and collaboration on food-related business cases such
as NPD, Production, Technology, Quality, or Operational Excellence. This is in an
international context, by working on assignments related to (sweet) bakery.
  • Mission #2: You will work on international projects, to develop effective skills in project
management, adaptability, cultural awareness, and collaboration. In addition, this will also
develop your communication and training skills.
  • Mission #3: You will fulfill a role in larger projects, whilst supporting the business. You will
work in a hybrid way: from home, abroad, or traveling to production sites. During these
projects, you will also work in our Competence Centers, spread across Europe.

After successful completion of your traineeship, you will be allowed to play a role within La Lorraine Bakery Group (eg. as a Production Technologist in one of our sites), matching the level of expertise and knowledge you acquired during your traineeship.

  • A Master's or Bachelor’s degree in a food-related field (e.g. bio and/or food technology)
  • Up to 2 years of professional experience
  • Passion for the food industry, especially in (sweet) bakery products. A first-hand experience in this field (thesis, internship) is a strong plus
  • Open attitude and willingness to learn in an open feedback culture
  • Hands-on, no-nonsense and entrepreneurial mentality, willing to take ownership
  • Good cognitive skills (analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making)
  • Fluent in English (both oral and written)
  • Willing to work in an international context (including frequent travel within Europe)
  • Steep learning curve on diverse topics, such as product development, industrial technology & production systems, project management, international collaboration, ...
  • Challenging projects where you take control and lead
  • A mentor who will support you during the traineeship period
  • A position at a growing and financially healthy company that focuses on innovation and where an entrepreneurial spirit is valued.
